Kick it your way, every day in men’s shoes
What do your shoes say about you? Are you a baller, or prefer to just chill? Do you rep the tried-and-true from the old school, or are you more the cutting-edge type?
Like most of us, you’re probably somewhere in between. Which is why we’re glad you’re here. Because you’ll find a little something for whatever your mood, whatever your outfit, or whatever statement you feel like making.
On point. On court or off.
Your shoe game can be as important off the court as it is on. Choose from performance footwear that will have you locked in and ready for the jump, or from court-inspired looks that will have you prepped for your postgame.
Who’s your influence? LeBron James, Kyrie Irving, Russell Westbrook, Paul George, and James Harden are all current stars with signature shoes. Fresh colourways drop regularly, so sign up for emails to stay informed of what’s dropping next and when.
But old-school stars have a strong sneaker game, too. Kobe Bryant retired in 2016, “His Airness” Michael Jordan walked away for good in 2004, and even Walt “Clyde” Frazier walks among them as the first modern-era basketball player to get his own signature shoe, from PUMA back in 1973. And don’t forget the true trendsetter, Chuck Taylor and his namesake Converse high-tops that debuted in the 1920s. And given the number of big names who wear all of those silhouettes, it’s safe to say those kicks have remained more than a little relevant to the culture.
Keep it running
Whether you’re running miles or just running errands, there’s a running style that can fit your needs.
Nike changed the game when it sparked the Air Revolution by debuting the visible air cushioning of the Nike Air Max in 1987. While Nike had included Air-Sole cushioning since 1978, it had always been encapsulated; out of sight, if not out of mind. Now a small window let the world see the innovation that cushioned your every step.
Models followed that would become cult classics; the layered look of the Air Max 90, the wavy inspiration of the Air Max 95 and Air Max 97, and more.
Nike hasn’t stopped innovating with its signature cushioning, as the Air VaporMax line pumps up the full-length underfoot cushioning while adding articulation for a fully natural flex.
adidas has revived interest in its own running-inspired heritage. While it’s been a legendary performer since the 1940s and has had performance running silhouettes since at least the 1980s, the 3-Stripes has really hit on something with the always-fire UltraBoost line. Thousands of bonded “energy capsules” give you an energy return like you’ve never experienced. And the mesh upper and midfoot TPU cage lend a clean, interesting look to every pair.
Choose your flavour
Sometimes, the brand’s the thing. Do you want to mix or match? Blend in or stand out?
Men’s adidas shoes include modern looks such as the UltraBoost and the nomadic go-everywhere versatility of the adidas Originals NMD series. You can even unlock the archives with classic retros such as the adidas Originals Continental 80.
If you favour the Swoosh, or the Jumpman, you have a lot of options open to you in men’s Nike and Jordan shoes. From the high-performance looks of Nike’s signature basketball stars to retro releases from the ongoing Air Jordan line named for the game’s greatest player, Michael Jordan, you can tell your story any number of ways.
Stomp the streets in rugged comfort in boots that will have you solidly on trend, whether it’s UGG Adirondacks or tried-and-true Timberlands.
The PUMA Clyde has been a popular choice since street culture adopted it years ago, long after it had retired from game use. That includes uppers of suede and other premium materials. But the Clyde has seen a resurgence in demand there, too, with the high-performance PUMA Clyde Court shoe.
And keep an eye out for collaborations, too. Converse has been working with Tyler, The Creator and his Golf le Fleur label to reimagine some of its own time-tested silhouettes.
