Mary Young is a Toronto-based community builder, designer and founder of MARY YOUNG, an ethical intimates brand. At her core, she believes that everyone should work towards embracing their natural shape and celebrating comfort first.
By mixing classic styles with her passion for street style, she has created a brand that's versatile, sustainable and unique to help represent the diversity we see in one another.
After moving to Toronto and being introduced to city life and other creatives around me, I was inspired to launch Young Muse in 2016. I was originally designing and making chokers out of vintage, repurposed garments, but it wasn’t until I was gifted a sewing machine that I started experimenting with clothing design. Having worked at a nightclub at the time, I began making pieces that I could wear to work, as well as for everyday life.
My designs continue to be primarily influenced by my own personal style, with an emphasis on quality and comfort. I’m excited to continue creating and following my passion.
